Now...Brief lake effect snow showers and squalls reducing visibilities to a quarter mile or less can be expected through 7 pm this evening. The squalls will also produce some thunder and lightning. Winds of 15 to 25 mph will cause blowing of the snow further reducing visibilities to near zero at Times. Snowfall rates of about one inch an hour can be expected in the heavier snow squalls. Motorists should slow down and allow extra time during the evening commute.
